A new flash from Snarf, for those of you who have ever felt frustrated by that annoying merchant guy from Resident Evil 4. Hey, did you know his name was actually "Gary" all along? I guess Snarf must have some friends at Capcom or something to get his hands on that sort of information. Say, why don't you be a friend and vote a five for "Resident Merchant" on Newgrounds? It's been bestowed the honor of "Daily Third Place" so far, and with any luck, it'll work it's way onto the frontpage.
More updates coming soon, possibly including maybe some video stuff from me, maybe? I should probably start updating that DevBlog of mine again, too...
In case you haven't noticed, updates on DHC have been rather slow lately. Ah, who the fuck am I kidding, updates have always been rather slow. The main reason being two things, one of course is the constant school work, and two would be this game, which has been consuming most of my free time. So, out of guilt, I decided to turn my obsession into something mildly productive, being the review I just linked to.
Also, John wanted me to mention that he recently updated the flash page. No new material really, there are just now proper links to some of our more recent works, including the Night Before Crhistmas, Handbook, Who Killed the Internet? and the Very Foamy New Year compilation. So now you can enjoy those whenever you please. Now if you don't mind I'm about to hit lvl 82...
That's right; I now have an officialy devBlog for DHC related project news. This includes flash projects, videos, upcoming reviews, and other stuff that I wouldn't want to clog up DHC's frontpage with. Of course, for major site updates, you can still expect me to post here. But, for all the stuff inbetween, refer to the devBlog. As of now, it's averaging about an update every two days (Though, admittedly, it only has 5 posts, and hasn't exactly been around for a while). I shouldn't expect it to drop anywhere lower than an update a week in the future.
If blogs aren't your cup of tea, you might fancy the latest game reviews to be posted on the game reviews page. There are new reviews for Ghost Squad and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on the Wii, as well as a review for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl that was actually posted several months ago [but never mentioned on the frontpage]. In other small news, in case you didn't catch it on the forums (Seriously, if you don't have a forum account at this point, you're seriously missing out on half of the site), my Youtube account got banned. All of the videos originally hosted on there are now missing in action. All of my video game related movies have made their way onto GameTrailers.com, but the other videos are still looking for a home. More updates on the situation as the story comes along.
We are pleased to welcome a dedicated fan, friend, and talented animator from Ohio as an official member of the DHC staff. xTheSnarfx is now officially signed as a resident animator and artist. All of his flash should be hosted on the site within in the week, inlcuding a new flash which seeks submision to NG as well before it is posted publicly on DHC. Stay tuned for more updates from him in the near future, folks.
Also, a big thanks to those who have purchased our merchandise from our CafePress page (ie. NOBODY).
So I've finally gotten around to completing the movie review archive system, so that it matches the game archive, because yeah, we like to review movies and games. Who knew? I also uploaded a new review for Portal in case you want to check it out.
Also, because it has never been officially announced on the front page, John has recently set up an RSS Feed so you can keep up to date with our lightning fast updates.
As for future updates, I hope to eventually complete DHU (or at least bring it out of the Beta phase), and when that happens, we plan on starting a more existant advertising campaign.
Lastly, I moved the DHC Podcast Episode 1 to the Downloads page. Exciting stuff, right?
New flash up on the flash page: It's an advert for Doghouse Universal that me and Snarf put together over the weekend. You can watch it by clicking this link. Remember, applications for DHU are still open, and should be for quite some time. However, eventualyl, we will run out of open slots for users, so apply now while you still can.
In other news, the Alien versus Preadator 2 game review got posted. But if you looked at the forums like a good user, you already knew that, right? RIGHT?! Yeah, I thought so... Oh, and here's a new video by me that has nothing to do with DHC, and everything to do with Resident Evil.
I do believe this qualifies as the shortest time between frontpage updates in DHC history. And what do you know, this update packs almost as much content as the previous one? How fortunate for you! First off, here's a new Project Tyvious wallpaper, featuring a lovely, suggestive picture of the character Megan Fathimiir.
In case you're wondering where the source picture for that wallpaper came from, it's from one of the four new Project Tyvious sketches on the Art Gallery page. In case you were wondering which sketches are the new ones [which both Kris and Ben have told me they are confused about whenever I post new art], they are Megan sketches 003 through 005 and Ezekiel sketch 001. I suppose from now on, I'll mention which sketches are the most recent whenever I post an art gallery update on the frontpage. With any luck, my fellow frontpage updaters will follow suit. With any luck...
If that wasn't enough new content for you, here's a new preview for "Who Killed the Internet?", featuring the infamous "Furry" scene. You can view that by clicking this link. If you missed the first preview featuring the "Emo" scene, you can still find it in the official WKTI dedicated thread in the Flash Discussion forum. If you don't already have an account registered on the forums, shame on you: Go register one now and place your input on the two previews in the thread.
As a final bit of news, I moved a bunch of old updates to the past updates page. If, for some strange reason, you missed the few sporadic updates we made since November of 2006, you can view them by clicking on the "Past Updates" link at the bottom of the frontpage. It's right above the copyright jargon, and below the oldest post on the frontpage. So, yeah. Take this news as you will. By the way, I'll get to posting my new game reviews later today or sometime during the new week. Right now, I'm still crapped out from the party I just got back from. Yeah, it was my family's "October Birthdays Party", and I came out of it with a nice 232 dollars. I'm still totally out of it now, though.
Hey, here's a frontpage post! First off, here's a new wallpaper for your desktop. Featuring the rugged, handsome faces of DHC elite John, Ben, and Kris.
And now with that out of the way, here's some news stuff. If you haven't checked out the forum recently, I've been working on a new flash called "Who Killed the Internet?", which should be coming out some time at the end of the month or early November. Along with that, I'm also still at work on the first chapter of Project Tyvious, which should come out some time in November o December. Kris and Roberto are working on Reaper, which still has no solid, set release date as of yet. Ben's working on a few secret projects right now, which you may find out more about in the near future.
Tommorow, I'll be uploading five new concept sketches for Tyvious, which will be able to found on the Art Gallery page. Along with that, expect two or three new game reviews from yours truely as well. Other than that... Hmm, well, there's not much going on. We didn't have a chance to record the podcast today or yesterday, and the chance of a recording tommorow is still sketchy. Hope for the best, I suppose. It'll be out when it's out.
There's some new stuff in the art gallery, and a new movie review for Wild Hogs. Also, there might be some more new content over the weekend possibly, perhaps. Probably not. Who knows anymore?
Yes, I know. It's been a year to the day since my last update. So sue me. Those of you who keep up with what I'm working on should already know by now what's been going down, but for the sake of finally getting my little ice key icon on the main page for once, I'll give you all a rundown of exactly what our current projects are.
First off, John and Ben are trying to make a new episode of Drunk Cop. At the same time, me and Ben are trying to get a new Mother's Boards off the ground, however there's been some trouble with contacting Kagome, our voice actress from the previous episodes, though I'll have that all sorted out soon. I also finished most of my part in a flash made by our good friend and loyal fan, Snarf. It's sort of a video-game parody in the same vein as Majora's Mask: The Real Story, but it has nothing to do with Zelda. That should be done sometime this month.
Lastly, I'm doing a rather ambititous webcomic project with Roberto that's actually been in the works for years, but we've only recently gotten around to writing and drawing it. It's called Reaper, and it will be the first really serious work on DHC. We'll release it by issue, instead of by page like most of the comics here. It's a limited series, meaning that it will eventually come to an end, but I expect it'll turn out to be a pretty huge event, with various guest issues and side-stories thrown into the mix. I'm hoping that we can bring the first issue to you soon.
I know my work output has been rather non-existent lately, but I hope that with Reaper and a full-fledged season of Mother's Boards, I can help turn that around. Here's hoping you stay along for the ride.
Two new game reviews (For Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing and Echoes). I'm planning on purchasing Command And Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl in the near future. Naturally, I'll review them after I complete or whatnot. Also, I decided to change the standard panel layout and size ration in TDIL again. It's 800 by 800 now, which should allow for larger text and images in the strip. In other news, the release date for Tyvious Chapter One is still June 20th, but the project page should be up by as early as June 10th. So, keep checking up for that.
It's the home stretch at school, homies. Summer is almost here, and everyone will get back to work. Just wait on us a while longer, okay?
"'Im gonna' miss you, I'm gonna' miss you so much. Those hot summer nights won't last forever!" ~ The MC Bat Commander
Hey, it looks like we skipped updating through April! Oh well. April's a boring month, anyway.
I am pleased to say that this is a content update. A fairly decent one, at that. Not neccessarily worth the two months wait it took to gather it together, but a decent update nonetheless. The main content comes in the form of seven new pieces of art on the Art Gallery page. These include five new pieces from yours truely, all of which contain characters from my upcoming project Tyvious, and two new pieces from Lawrence.
Oh, and speaking of Tyvious, I'm setting the release date of the first chapter as June 20th [of this year, of course]. So, wait on that for a while, why don't you? In semi-related news, Kris' big project, Reaper, is still under development as well. No release date for that yet, though. However, from what I've seen so far, it appears to be looking very nice.
In other news, either me or Ben may get around to writing a movie review of Hot Fuzz in the near future, though we saw it further back in the past. Whatever, a review is a review. Oh, and Ben might get around to writing a review of Pokemon Diamond, as well... Possibly... With any luck... With a snowball's chance in Hell... Look, don't hold your breath, okay?
There's a new TDIL strip up, which I only mention for two reasons: Because there has been such a long delay between this strip and the last strip, and because the standard 4-panel strip size is now slightly different (It is now 1200 by 300 pixels, as opposed to before when it wasn't). I'm going to see if I can mantain a regular update schedule again for a few weeks, until something comes up and I get thrown off again. Here's looking foward to whatever comes up!
School is almost out for the primary staffers here at DHC, and the "update drought" should be coming to an end very soon. We assure you, as soon as all of our finals and such are out of the way, we'll get back into the swing of things. The comics will begin regularly updating again, we'll have more time to write reviews, and everything will be peachy again. Please bear with us for these last few weeks or so, until we start focusing on the site full-time again. We thank you again for your cooperation, and for sticking with us while we do little along the lines of maintaining the site.
But I think it's pretty cool. So yeah, Doghouse Universal is now officially open for business (with some help from the kind people at PHPBuilder.com.) For those of you who have been checking in over the past few months, Doghouse Universal has been a little dream of ours that we've been hoping to achieve for some time now. With DHU it's now possible for us to host comics by many more people than before. You can sign up for your own account right now, begin making comics, and editing your own website however you want. DHU is still in the beta stage however, so we will constantly be releasing new features that make it more convenient and customizable. We hope you take this opportunity to try starting a comic of your own, and we're excited to see the things you come up with!
In other news, there's a new wallpaper up on the downloads page, a couple of new awesome drawings from Lawrence in the art gallery and a paragraph dedicated to the photo coverage of the DHC Staff Con 06. So, go check it out if you want to see somewhat amusing photographs of the losers who run this website. That's all for now.
What's that? Hey, it's a real update! In case you haven't been checking the DHC reviews page, I will now officially anounce the new Game Review Archive System. Finally, no more scrolling through that giant page just to see a review! All of the reviews are now stored on their own page, and can be accessed via the new search function. I put a crapload of time in getting this thing to work, so you guys better appreciate it. By not entering any information into the search, you will be able to get a listing of all the games as well (and look, you now know who published them!). This is truly exciting.
In addition, you will see two new game reviews for Okami and Final Fantasy III, both of which were written by me. Read them, enjoy them, whatever. Not much else to say on that.
With this out of the way, I hope to be able to put the finishing touches on DHU and have that working as well. But hey, at least I got something done!
I would love to say that the holiday season, bringing new games and gifts for all, would also lead into more reviews for these games. However, this isn't always the case, as in most situations, we were too busy playing them to bother.
I had a fairly small haul this year (the only game being Final Fantasy III for the DS), but John on the other hand received basically every good launch title available for the Wii. So far, he's only reviewed Red Steel (check it out on the review page), but maybe we'll be able to throw together a joint review of FFIII (once we both get further in). I also reviewed the disappointing Saw III, but that was a while ago. Seriously, who cares about that now?
In addition to the very few things we have accomplished, I can tell you the things we hope to accomplish in the near future! I'm currently working away at Doghouse Universal, the free comic host system, coded entirely in PHP. With all luck, I'll have the major issues worked out by the end of the holiday break, and release the open Beta version. Isn't it exciting?
Also, two days from now, Kris, John, and I will be heading to the super-secret-invite-only DHC Staff Con 06, which really has nothing to do with DHC. However, we may be able to bounce a few concepts off of each other, and return with a new idea for DHC (hey, that's how MTP came to be). So yeah, the most important thing is that you feel excluded. Just know we'll be laughing at you.

Remove the Head, Destroy the Brain, Lather, Rinse, Repeat Update by John
Happy Halloween from all of us here at DHC! Especially from me. Because, you know, I am the self-appointed resident "horror movie expert" and all. It might also deal with the fact that my birthday is the day before Halloween and all. No matter what the case, I claim this holiday as my own, to cherish and to claim the frontpage update on! EAT THAT, OTHER GUYS WHO UPDATE ON THE FRONT PAGE BESIDES MYSELF!
In case you wondering, yes, there is some actual content with this update! It comes in the form of a new beta release / demo set for Bottle Blaster 5. Production for the game is actually coming along rather smoothly. Still, I can't give a specific release date or anything of that sort. I'd like to say some time in... early 2007, maybe? Who knows. Things come up, after all.
In other site-related news, I'd like to officially announce that I have started writing the first chapter of my super-confidential-in-planning-for-six-years story! Eyup, I've been tossing around ideas for this little story since way back when, even before the website was a sparkle on my monitor. More news on that later, maybe. Don't expect any release dates or things of that nature for a while with this project, though. Even as it is now, I feel like I'm "rushing into it" and other feelings of that sort. But belive me, when this story is done and written, it is going to rock your blocks off. And by rocks, I mean it's going to BLOW YOUR DAMN MIND. At least, that's what I'm aiming for.
Next in "upcoming release" news, you can expect reviews for Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 1 and 2 some time in the near future. Yes, I realized that I said in my last update that I was writing a review for SNSS1, and I never actually got around to it. But after getting the second game, I decided to get back to work on finishing up the last bit of the first game that I never got around to, thus delaying my review for it. Still, after that, I'm going to wait until I beat the second installment before writing either of the reviews. Also, DDRFreek went to see Saw III at that place where you go to see movies, which show what the camera saw when they pressed the "record" button. Phew, how many "sees" and "saws" was that? Hmm... four? I'll do better next time, I guess. But yeah, maybe expect a review for that possibly some time in the near future, I guess? It could happen.
I'm still not done yet! I'm planning on going on a game-buying spree with all teh monees I got from my birthday [one good reason to keep family around]. So, if get some interesting stuff, I might write some random reviews for those later on. Once again, I'm speaking in "possiblities" and "chances". You must keep in mind how notoriously lazy / busy we DHC staffers are. Well, more focus on the lazy, less focus on the busy. Whatever.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have trick-or-treaters to scare away. Because, the more kids you scare away, the more candy you can keep for yourself! Now, where's my Jason Vorhees mask and bloody machete...?

Move along folks, nothing to see here Update by Ben
As you can tell, DHC updates have been few and far between recently. However, the big news as of late is the creation of a new comic, Screaming in Space, done by Jason. So far only the title page is up, but hopefully he'll be more willing to update than the rest of us.
Just the other night I went and saw Man of the Year, which was a pleasant surprise. Not an amazing movie, but definitely entertaining, with some good acting. I might write a review for it later, if I feel in the mood. Other than that, that's about it.

This Scene is Dead, but I'm Still Restless Update by John
Expect this to be the last site content update before school starts up. For most of the DHC staff, school starts again in about three days. As stated before in the last update, once school starts up, our already slow update schedule is going to get almost twice as slow. We hope to still have time to update our comics and add writing content to the site and all, but we also have to deal with all of our work at school. We have lives too, you know. As pathetic as they might be, they still exist.
Anyway, the content at hand is my game review for Star Fox Command for the Nintendo DS. Is it a hit or a disaster? Read the review to find out. Also, I'm close to finishing Summon Night: Swordcraft Story for the Gameboy Advance, which is shaping up to be a nice RPG. Expect a review for that sometime this month, perhaps. I can't guarantee anything. And with that, I must go. Keep checking up for updates and stuff.
It may only be five in the afternoon while I post this, but it might as well be two in the morning because I AM REALLY TIRED. But still, I have updates I need to write. So let me try and get this over with as quickly as possible.
I took down a bunch of my old game reviews because they didn't meet my standards any more. People keeping track of how many reviews we have, start over your scoreboard or whatnot. There is one new review, though. And that review is my review of Trauma Center: Under the Knife. In other news, The Dips In Life is sort of back now, I guess. I mean, there's a new comic up. Whether or not I will actually be able to keep an update schedule: Only time will tell.
Really, that should be it for the time being. With Summer ending and school starting up for us again, expect our rate of updates and stuff to decline once again. We'll still try and update when we can, but don't expect much from us anymore... At least until school is out again or something.

That's right, in case you didn't notice yet from my activity on the forum, I'm back. Now that I've returned, we can get things back in motion! First off, John and I have a second installment of Drunk Cop in the works, that you'll probably see before the end of the summer. Also, I'm working on a project of my own, another music video, which I guess you could say is the sequel to Move Your Feet. However, I'm not going to tell you the song just yet, it would ruin the surprise.
And now, I've saved the best for last. I officialy announce to you...Doghouse Universal! "What's that?" you may ask. Well I'll tell you, sonny! Doghouse Universal is a new section of DHC with the intent of openly hosting YOUR comics. Yes, once the system is fully functional, you will be able to register as a member (not the same as the DHC forum). As a member, you get your own comic page, along with a member login area where you can upload your comics and updates whenever you feel. The system probably won't be released for another week or so, but for now you can check out this page to get an idea of what it will be about.
As always, leave your feedback in the DHC forum, we're interested in hearing your opinions!
Although it wasn't mentioned on the front page, I went away on a 10-day vacation to Ohio, thus explaining the lack of my presence here for the time I was away. I actually got back about 5 days ago, but I never posted an update saying I got back either. So, basically, it would have been like nothing ever happened if I hadn't mentioned it just now on the front page. But I like to let my fans know what happens / is going on my real life... 5 days after it happens...
At any rate, there is an actual content update for this post... Sort of. You see, I've been busting my chops putting together DHC Bottle Blaster 5 for the past couple of days, and I finally have some in-game screenshots to show for it. See, unlike Sony at E3, I like to show in-game graphics and images in my previews. ZING.
Other than that, there's nothing new to report, really. Expect more stuff and whatnot, and don't be dissapointed when we take forever to post it. Kthxbye.
Surprise! New flash! Yep, I just finished animating my second flash film (with a bit of help from John in the writing and acting department), and you can check it out here. Don't forget to discuss it on the forum and vote for it on Newgrounds. It's probable that we will make more installments, so if you want to see them, leave positive feedback!
In other minor and unimportant news, we made image links for our nav bar (very fancy, I know). Also, I recently completed a review for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. But what do you care? No one likes to read anymore! Still, I'm glad I finally got around to making a movie review since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
I finally finished transferring the TDIL archive onto DHC grounds, and can be found here. None of the descriptions (except one) have been added in yet, I'll see if John wants to copy those over too. However, TDIL is still pretty much dead as far as I'm aware, so don't get your hopes up for any new comics there.
In other news John and I both recently watched FF VII: Advent Children, so there might be a double review for that one coming up soon. With summer coming around the bend, there should be a good deal of progress made, especially on the LotT front. Although I am going on vacation for one month, I know at least one of the other staff members will keep up the progress.
Heheh. An entire 30 days without any updates. Teh phail.
Well, that isn't entirely true. You see, we've been updating every now and then for the past month, but we never osted anything that was really worthy of it's own news post on the front page. We were planning to put all the updates in one big update once we gathered up enough updates at once. So, apparently, that time for updating is now. And what an update it shall be...
First off, the staff page has underwent an update to the extreme. You see, we've had a few new staffers for a while, none of which we ever got around to mentioning on the front page. So, let us all welcome Mike, Jason, Lawrence, and Kevin to our DHC staff! Yeah, we are just now getting around to introducing Jason and Mike. Kevin has been on the forums for a while, though, under his alias of "Barbedpen". He's going to be a writer for us. The most recent recruit, Lawrence, was hired just yesterday. He has been a friend of me and Ben for a while (I've known him since the 5th grade, I beliebe), but it wasn't until recently that we realized he could draw. So, we tossed him in the van, and brought him to Kris for judgement. And now he is here, ready to work as an artist for us. We'll be posting some of his material on the art gallery later today.
Speaking of the art gallery (Oh, nice segway), I took down a bunch of my old art. Yeah, it just got too old and shitty looking. I have "higher standards" now. So, I put down 3 new pieces of art to replace the 10 or so pictures that I took down. Quality over quantity. Also, one of these pictures ("John Sketch 001") serves as the base for my new update avata / icon. Yes, I replaced the old "TDIL Business Demon" icon with a "JLFH John" icon. Go me.
In other news, there is a new game review from me for the game Tetris DS. Spoiler: It is awesome, and I am awesome at it. Oh, and in technology and gaming related news, I got my television fixed about two or three weeks ago (After having had it broken due to a power outage, as mentioned in my April 18th update, "You don't know what you have until you lose your mind"). I've been enjoying my console games for the past few weeks, and I am planning on purchasing some new games later next week [with any luck]. Expect some game reviews after that.
Is there anything else worth mentioning? Oh yeah. I added a nifty little "featured flash" gadget to the flash page. It goes through the four most recent flashes on the site, and provides direct links to their pages. It took me a good half-hour or so to make it. So, congratulations to me for doing so.
That's pretty much all for now. Oh, actually, there is one more thing... I'm reviving The Dips in Life. Otherwise, no other news to speak of. Nothing else big going on. So yeah, until the next update, blah blah blah goodbye.
Alright. Here's a movie I haven't really talked about in the past, but I've been working on it since January. It won Daily 2nd Place on Newgrounds, which is the best award a DHC movie has ever gotten. So, yeah, I'm proud of that.
I made it in Flash 8, so if you still don't have the proper Flash Player, you can get it here.
Enjoy.

You don't know what you have until you lose your mind Update by John
Two days ago, I was minding my own buisness, playing Resident Evil 4 and whatnot, when all of a sudden, the power goes out. It comes back on three seconds later, and everything seemed to go back to normal. Everything, of course, except my television. Apparently, during the outage/surge, the TV decided to blow it's fuse and commit suicide. So now, I'm down one TV, and it of course HAD to be the TV I have all my consoles hooked up to and my Tivo hooked up to. Fun times. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, no console reviews (on my part) or things of that sort until I get myself a new TV. I have plenty of other TVs in the house (14, to be precise), but I'm just too lazy to move all of my consoles around, or take out a TV so I can hook it up in my old TVs place. Besides, none of the other TVs in my house are really cut out for gaming anyway.
In other news, level design on Bottle Blaster Five officially started yesterday. The game engine was finished a few days ago, but I haven't started designing levels up until yesterday. Be sure to pitch your ideas for levels in the forums and stuff. Also, in case you haven't noticed, the rants page has been taken down. Most of the writing was pretty poor anyway, and we didn't feel like reformatting all the content like we did for the other pages.
On a final note, Roberto says he's releasing a new wallpaper soon. When that comes out, check it out in the downloads section. And that's all I have to say about that.
Yes, an actual content update once again. I recently finished my first animation, Move Your Feet, a music video for the song of the same name. I've been working on it for two months or so, but I kept it under wraps to make it even more of a surprise! Hope you enjoy the movie, and don't forget to vote for it on Newgrounds!. Of course, only if you give it a high score. You know the say, if you don't have anything nice to rate, don't rate at all. Or something like that...

I survived an army of the undead, and all I got was this update Update by John
Another month, another update. I'd be suprised if anyone even visits this site anymore.
New game review for Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, written by yours truely. Apparently, nobody else here was man enough to buy the game. So, being the hunk of masculinity and hard muscle I am (EDITORS NOTE: Yeah, maybe in his little MMORPG fantasy land.), I went out and played through a game I had already beaten in 1997, just for you faithful cult followers of the site at home. By the way, the secret meeting in the underground lair is tommorow. Snarf, I expect you to bring the "special recipe" for the punch.
I was lucky enough to see V for Vendetta not more than a few days ago, so expect a review for that soon. Word on the grapevine is that Ben and Kris saw it too, although I wasn't part of that special party. Yeah, I was with OTHER FRIENDS. 7 of them, in fact. After I saw the film, I got a friend of mine to let me borrow his copy of the original graphic novel, which I just finished reading last night. So, yeah, movie reviews coming up soon.
In case you're wondering what exactly we've been doing in the past month, I'll formulate the excuses for you. I was busy playing Anarchy Online, a delightful little MMORPG that has consumed my life as I know it (72 hours in the past 7 days). Also, I'm still trying to work out a basic engine for Bottle Blaster 5, which WILL be different from the basic engine used in the past few games. Ben has been working on a secret project in Flash, which I must say is coming along rather nicely. Kris is still working on his latest flash movie (You can find some info on that in the forums, seeing as he probably doesn't want me spoiling everything on the frontpage), as well as redoing the character models for Mothers Boards. Well, at least that's what he CLAIMS to be doing. It might just be a cover story for his SECRET UNDERGROUND JIGSAW PIECE FACTORY! Soon, he will monopolize the jigsaw puzzle industry, and never have to worry about collecting all the jigsaw pieces in every level of Banjo Kazooie. Seriously, finding all those little pieces is tedious. With that out of the way, it'll be easier for him to discover the secrets of the Ice Key. Good luck, Kris.
England prevails.
ICEKEYHUNTER EDIT: I already HAVE every Jiggy in every level of both Banjo-Kazooie AND Banjo-Tooie. Geez. England Prevails to you, too, John.
DHC has a couple of new affiliates who we met by posting our comicsontheWebcomic List. So go check out their websites, listed on the links page, and maybe drop our featured comics some comments on TWCL.
Well first of all, I'd like to say Happy Valentines Day to all our fans. And yes, I did draw all that by hand, so don't ask. Let's just say I've found myself a new style to work with : )
Now, I understand that most people visiting this site aren't doing much along the lines of "socializing" today. So, in oreder to celebrate the occassion, I'll be posting a few new pieces of art in the art gallery a bit later today. Also, expect a game review or two, and maybe even a movie review.
I put up another fan review written by Kyle yesterday for Perfect Dark Zero, which can be found on the Fanthings page. Just as a reminder, anyone who wants to see their content on DHC can email it to either myself, Kris, or John, and we'll most likely put it up (unless it's so horribly written that we can't make sense of it). We'd especially appreciate reviews for the Xbox and Xbox 360, since none of us own either of those.
In other news, John and I recently had the pleasure of playing through Tony Hawk's American Wasteland from start to finish. So expect a review, possibly a collaborative one, up for that soon.
I posted a somewhat lengthy review for Tony Hawk's American Sk8land on the game review page for your reading pleasure. Seriously, if you have a DS and have ever enjoyed playing a Tony Hawk game, you need this one. Read the review if you want to get a better idea of my view though, because I know you do.
Also, I'd like to once again encourage everyone to join the new Doghouse Comics Forum, and join in on all the great discussions. You don't want to be left out do you!? Besides, it only takes a matter of seconds to join, no verification e-mails or anything. Besides, who knows, maybe if you become active enough I'll make you a mod!
In other news, Yázuke has fairly recently been added to the Webcomic List, so go check it out, and if you have an account there, maybe drop a comment or even add it to your favorites. I'm sure Roberto would appreciate it. That's all for now.
Just a few minor updates to report. We've added a few submissions to the fan page, 3 of which are actually just old fan things that accidently got deleted a while back. So it's more like... One new fan submission...
In other news, there's this Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory clan I'm part of, and their new clan website is up. And when I say it's up, I mean it's still under development and such. So, being the generous, kind, pwner of n00bs that I am, I told my fellow clanmates I'm link to the site from here. So, here you go, guys. Now, give me admin privelages, damn you! Keep in mind, the site is still under development. Although taht still doesn't excuse the fact they have rap music on the main page (Seriously guys, take it off).
Today in the DHC news, there are a number of happenings. That number is in fact, 1. There is a slightly new update format, which since you're reading it, was probably hard to miss. It may not seem like much, but trust me, it took much more effort than you'd think. Also, my birthday was recently, and I received Tony Hawk: American Wasteland among things, (hence the terrible title pun) so there might be a review for that some time in the future.

Apocalypse Eventually (Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The New Comic) Update by Kris
First, I will acknowledge the title. Ben and I have a new movie in the works, so we'll naturally be procrastinating for the next month before we get it to you. No, no, I kid, it's coming along rather quickly. As for John's projects, well, he hasn't worked on KaJS2 or MFS5 for almost a year. So the title really applies more to him.
In other news, as you may have guessed, we have a new comic, Out of the Ordinary, written and drawn by our resident artist, Jason. Seriously, we have another artistic genius here. The man's got talent, what can I say? Expect great things from him. Hopefully he's not as lazy as most of us are.
Note: Just a head's up, there are actually two comics in the Out of the Ordinary (or, as I like to call it, O3) archives. Don't want you guys missing out on the awesomeness.

Happy Belated Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, and New Years Day Update by John
I come bearing gifts! Not for you guys, mind you, I'm just flaunting the gifts I got for Christmas. Haha, you guys don't get CRAP from me. Well, maybe one. But you'll have to wait until the end of the update. But for the time being, it's time to show off the games I got! Yay, jealousy and greed!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (NDS) Mario Kart DS (NDS) Sonic Rush (NDS) Kirby: Canvas Curse (NDS) Trauma Center: Under the Knife (NDS) Nanostray (NDS) We Love Katamari (PS2)
Looks like I've got some writing to do. Well, for starters, my Sonic Rush review is up on the game reviews page. I'll try and get an Animal Crossing review up tommorow... Not like we have fans or anything.
In other news, Bottle Blaster 4 is off the Newgrounds frontpage. LE GASP! Well, it had a good run, I suppose. The good news is, BB4 is one of the nominees for "Best Game of December"! If I can snag a spot in the top 5 games, I get this big prize (or so I've been told). Also, that would be bound to get DHC more publicity If it won the award. And Mom told me I'd NEVER accomplish anything just sitting in front of the computer.
So yeah, Merry-happy-whatever-holiday-you-celebrate. I'm gonna go play some Sonic Rush now. Whoops, did I say "play Sonic Rush"? I meant "look at Amy Rose and Rouge the Bat hentai". Mmm... furry hentai...
And with that comment, may you have nightmares about me and my evil ways for the rest of the week. And that, my friends, is my gift to you.
First things first, Bottle Blaster 4 is doing awesome on Newgrounds, far better than anyone could have expected. At the time I am posting this, it has a score of 3.87/5.00, has 212,974 views, and is STILL on the frontpage. W007 to the mother-freaking nootches!
Next on the agenda, we here at DHC have a special treat for you. Today, while I was surfing the NG portal, I stumbled across this little cartoon. At first glance, it's a generic Mario flash. However, the thing that makes this flash shine is the various typos and Engrish that plauge the cartoon. This makes for an overall entertaining cartoon, in what would otherwise be a generic, crappy movie. So, feeling the magic of the season coarsing through my veins, I decided that this flash should live after it's days on NG are through, and falls into obscurity.
I e-mailed the author of the cartoon, asking if I could host his cartoon on DHC. Much to my delight, he e-mailed me back saying I could.
Well firstly, John's Bottle Blaster 4 recieved a front page on Newgrounds, Daily 5th Place, a spot in the Shooting Games collection, as well as 100k hits. Quite impressive, so congrats to him. Secondly, I have been working very long..ok so maybe it wasn't that long..to get a new PHPbb forum set up, and it is. Check it out at our now self hosted location in all its beauty. A real thanks to the wonderful people at PHPbb for making such an amazing code. In any case, we encourage you all to join the new forum and get things going, as the old forum will be defunct soon.

Oh, what's that? There's a new game from John? Update by John
I'm back, bitches. And with me, I bring a kick-ass new game that'll rape your computer, and then leave it for dead in a dark, abandoned alleyway in Atlantic City. Yeah, Bottle Blaster 4 is out, baby. The Cloud-Train is officially back in motion.
Oh, and if that wasn't enough, two new game reviews (Lost in Blue, Shadow the Hedgehog), a new rant, and some new stuff on the staff page.
Until the next update, I'll leave you with these words of advice: "Vote 5 for BB4 on Newgrounds or face eternal damnation in Hell!"
By the way, New webcomic, JLFH. Yeah, it'll get better over time, trust me. For now, you get the first 5-strip starter pack.
UPDATE: Whoops, looks like I had the date of this update marked as "11-26-05" before. My bad. At any rate, it's fixed now.
Well Kris and I have been working diligently over the past two days and we've finally got the PHP archive for comics perfected. Currently Permanent Records and Yazuke are the only two PHP archived comics. Check it ooouuuut.
I other news, I recently viewed the newest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so my thoughts on it will probably be appearing soon in the movie review section. Keep an eye out for it.

Happy Birthday to me, Mother-Fuckers Update by John
Yay! Happy Birthday to me! Now gimme my presents, assholes.
Over the course of the next few days, expect reviews for:
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow (NDS) Trace Memory (NDS) Pac-Pix (NDS) Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (GCN Version)
More may be soon to come, but those are the games I have recieved so far. Also, I plan on making a new comic in the near future. So, yeah. I'll give you a minute to let that settle in.
In other news, Ben made a review for Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. So, yeah, go read it now.
Good news, people! We've got two new comics in the works from two new staffers. However, one of which is a little further ahead of the other. You can see one of the concept sketches on the Art Page. Mike's probably gonna do quite a few sketches before doing the comic, because, though there's a rough idea, it's not a lot to work with. As for the 2nd new staffer, he promises a comic by the end of the year. Other than that, we don't know much about it.
In other news, MB's doing just fine. There've been a few problems here and there, mostly due to my laziness. I'm not 100% certain if I can keep up a weekly schedule. But, we'll keep you posted on that on the MB Site. That's not just a heads up for you, but a note to all the staffers. Seriously, no MB related news on the frontpage.
Anyhoo, this is IceKeyHunter, signing off... Saving Your Settings... It is now safe to turn off your computer.
We've updated the Staff page with some of our favorite musical talents, for all you people who care (which I imagine, is not many). Also, Mother's Boards Ep. 2 was recently completed, the delay caused because we originally intended to do one script, Kris finished it and decided that he'd rather animate a different one. So right now, you can check it out on the MB page, or go to Newgrounds (Daily 5th Place!) to vote.
Pardon the crappy update title. It's like, a follow up to last update's title. Or something.
Anyhoo, the Mother Boards site is up. The Pilot has been up on NG for 2 weeks now, but I only just got around to making a place for it. Blame my laziness, school, and the production of Ep. 2 (which is still going on, oddly enough). Anyways, check it out, because I assure you, I put more work into it than Ben put in the other comic pages. Well, Ben helped with this one, but I designed it and made the images! Geez.
New in-depth review for Halo 2 in case John's number-only review didn't please you. Also, I've finally updated Permanent Records again, and it's so monumental I figured I'd announce it here. So go check it out, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, work on Mother's Boards is coming along quite nicely (thanks to Kris' nonstop work), and the first episode should be reaching you soon enough. That's it for now.
Meteor 4 is up on the Flash page. Also, new game review for Goldeneye: Rouge Agent for the Nintendo DS. And if that wasn't enough for you, three new movie reviews for Wedding Crashers, Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens, and Mononoke-hime. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, we've changed our rating scale from n/5 to n/10. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go do some work...
... And by work, I mean play Perfect Dark... Yippie-ki-yay, mother-fuckers.
First things first: I finally got a new DHC staff e-mail address! Hooray for me! So, if you want to send me an e-mail, send it over to this e-mail address.
Next order of buisness. I decided to make 5 new 'DHC Staffer' wallpapers and post them in the Download section. Yeah, they pwn. Go download them now. All the cool kids are doing it.
Finally, and probablly most importantly, I've decided to continue on with the 'Kris and John Show' flash series. Now, I'll be making a new episode every month, starting as of when I release the next episode. Except wacky antics, packed with educational goodness! Well, less emphasis on the educational shit.
And finally, on an un-related, un-important, un-productive note, Reel Big Fish r0x0rz ur b0x0rz. Yeah, I just felt the need to post that. Now, leave me to my music collection!
UNDENIABLE PROOF JESUS WAS BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD.
Some might see this as a vehicle to post an Alien Resurrection Review, because I just saw the movie last night, but I'm too lazy to write it. Maybe some other time.
Well, I just wrote a review for TWINE, for the sake of writing something. Also, getting back on the PR up-oh wait. Forgot the first rule of DHC. You do not talk about the comics. In any case, I'm feeling a bit accomplished right now, for something that I should be doing anyway. In any case, the gang is getting together tomorrow, so some MB stuff should be in the works, as well as god knows what. I've been meaning to make an update since I got back, so I guess this is it.
July 30 2005
So much for Bottle Blaster being released on 7-30-05 Update by John
Yeah, yeah. I was suppossed to release BB4 today. But the thing is, I didn't finish it, so I'd be releasing an unfinished game If I did release it today, which I will not be doing because the game is incomplete, so it shall not be released. Need I say more?
In other news, we have an update archive at the bottom of the page now, so you can check that out If you wish. Or don't. It's just a bit of old news anyway.
So yeah, you're going to have to wait a while longer for BB4. But let me assure you, it will be a kick-ass game, and will be worth the wait.
Ben's Back, MB's behind, and the page title's random. I'll update MB Mondays, but I need another week for the Pilot. I'm a lazy bastard, as evident by this short, undetailed update.
I'm back from my vacation in Ohio, and boy do I have some news for you.
First things first: I have a bitchin' new computer. It's a HP Pavilion computer, complete with AMD 64 Athlon processor for high-speed surfing. It's chalk-full of kick-ass features, such as a built-in DVD player (Using it to watch my James Bond DVDs as I type this). In other words, expect more productivity coming from my direction.
Secondly, we got a NEW STAFF MEMBER. Roberto will be our new artist. With him he brings a new webcomic, Yazuke. You can check it out so far right here. Expect good things form him in the future.
Finally, we killed off "Project: Sketchbook." But not to worry! The few sketches we had on there have been moved to the new art gallery. and that's all for now, folks.
Alright, the site's template is finished for every page. It's a good thing Ben was able to finish it when he did, because he left for camp today and won't be back for a month. To top it all off, John went to Ohio for at least a week (I think he said two weeks. Not sure, though). So, I'll be the only one here for a while. Since Ben got lazy and didn't bother making a month's worth of comics like he said he would, I'll be making fancomics for PR until John gets back, then I'll force him to make one. Shouldn't be too hard.
Because of Ben's abscence, I need to delay my two biggest flash projects- Lord of the Things and a weekly cartoon series known as Mother's Boards.
So, expect more short flashes out of me for the month of July. In August, production will begin on Lord of the Things, and I'll release the first 4 episodes of Mother's Boards. While I can't give you more than the title for now, I promise I'll overhype it and give you more plot info as the month goes on. Don't you worry.
MAJOR UPDATE: FORGET ABOUT WAITING A MONTH! MAJORA'S MASK: THE REAL STORY IS FINISHED!!
In case you haven't noticed, we finished redoing all the pages
in HTML, and we deleted all that was left of the Freewebs site and added a redirect. We also made a Wikipedia Entry for DHC. It's on 'Votes for Deletion' because
it isn't considered noteworthy, so either vote against deletion or check it out while you can. Other than that, nothing
new. Or, at least, nothing new that I can tell you about (hint, hint).
Almost done with the rough version of the website, I just had Kris upload the downloads page, and the only things left are flash, fan stuff, and the individual comics, which can come later. Also, if you noticed, Kris set up the domain e-mails, so no more yahoomail for us! Last but not least, we're planning on switching around a few things, and broadening our horizons so to say. Keep watching, more change is around the corner.
Yeah, John made me the new president, which means I'm in charge of everything. Which means that DHC will be
a lot better, considering John was a crappy leader.
But seriously, I do hope to make DHC a much better and more involved website. The new template and the new flash movies John ands I are working on are nothing compared to changes we might see in the future. We have a weekly flash series in the works, and we (well, at least I) plan
to get back to work on our comics and maybe even start hosting other peoples' webcomics (Of course, for now, that's only a pipe dream).
So, allow me to use an old TV cliché and say 'Stay Tuned, there's a lot more coming up.'
And of course, when I say "We're Making Progress", I mean Ben and Kris. You see, I have little knowledge of HTML. I can do actionscript, but simple HTML baffles me XP. At any rate, kudos to Ben (And partly Kris) for the snazzy HTML template.
A bit more detailed of a layout, of course it's not near done yet. Also, I'm sure you'll find that none of the links work. Probably because we haven't really created any new pages yet. In any case, we'll be working in more graphics soon, so sit tight.
